We, Acne Studios AB, reg. no. 556504-7726, (“we”, “ us” etc.), use cookies on our website www.acnestudios.com (the “Website”). In this policy you will find information about what cookies we use, what they are used for and what choices you can make regarding these cookies.

Together with cookies we also use other techniques such as beacons and pixel tags, all jointly referred to as “cookies”.

Our use of cookies may involve processing of personal data, for more information please see below.

Cookie Settings

Cookie preference and consent

Before we can place a cookie on the Website, we must get your consent. Therefore, when you visit the Website from a device for the first time you will be asked to manage your cookie-preferences in our so-called cookie-banner. Your choices will be saved and only the cookies to which you have given your consent will be placed on the Website. Your preference-settings are saved for 1 year. However, we do not need your consent for placing necessary cookies as these cookies are essential for the functioning of the Website.

Where we intend to use cookies, or information collected through cookies, for a purpose that is not covered by the consent you previously gave, we will ask for your consent again before we do so, unless we are able to rely on another lawful basis for that use. Personal data

Our use of cookies may lead to the processing of personal data. By giving us your consent for the use of cookies we may therefore get access to personal data regarding you. For example, if you choose to give your consent to cookies we might save an address that you have provided in relation to an earlier purchase to simplify your next purchase. This would amount to processing of personal data.

The information we collect through cookies may include cookie and advertising identifiers, your IP address, information about the pages and products you view and the purchases you make, your Acne Studios customer identifier where you are signed in, have registered an account or have subscribed to our newsletter, and, where you accept targeting cookies, a hashed version of the email address or telephone number you enter when placing an order. We do not attach our customer identifier to this information on our Chinese website.

Google Consent Mode v2 Notice

We use Google Consent Mode v2 to manage how cookies and tracking technologies interact with Google services based on your consent preferences. This ensures that data collection and processing align with your privacy choices while maintaining essential website functionality. Consent Mode works by sending Google signals that reflect the choices you make in our cookie banner: analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization. If you accept targeting cookies, or accept all cookies, the three advertising signals are set to “granted”. Before you make a choice, and where you reject these cookies, they are set to “denied”.

How Data is Processed Based on Your Consent

• • If you consent to analytics cookies: Google Analytics receives data that helps us measure how our Website is used. If you consent to targeting cookies: Google Ads receives data that is used for advertising personalization, remarketing, audience building, bidding optimization and conversion measurement, and Google may link that data to your Google Account as described under “Google Advertising and Measurement” below.
• • If you reject cookies: Google Consent Mode adjusts tracking so that no advertising cookies or advertising identifiers are used and only limited event data is sent, as described under “Cookieless Pings” below.

Cookieless Pings

Before consent is given and when consent is denied, Google Consent Mode enables Cookieless Pings to collect certain event data in a non-identifiable manner. Cookieless Pings are a method of transmitting limited, non-identifiable data to Google without using cookies. These pings help us understand general website interactions without storing personally identifiable information (PII). The data transmitted may include:

• • Referrer website or page
• • Indications of ad-clicks
• • Consent state (whether consent was given or denied)

These pings give us a general indication of how our Website is used. They do not include your Acne Studios customer identifier, hashed contact details or any other information that identifies you directly.

Data Retention and Transfers Please note that data shared with Google services is subject to Google’s data retention policies, which may differ from our own. Once data is sent to Google, it is processed and stored according to Google’s rules. You can refer to Google’s Privacy Policy for further details.

Some cookies, and in particular Google’s advertising and measurement services, involve transfers of personal data outside the EU/EEA, including to the United States. Where we rely on Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC, we rely on Google LLC’s certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and, where that framework does not apply, on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses together with supplementary safeguards. You may request further information about the safeguards we rely on using the contact details at the end of this policy.

Google Advertising and Measurement

Where you accept targeting cookies, information about your visit to the Website, including cookie and advertising identifiers, the pages and products you view and the purchases you make, is shared with Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC and used for Google advertising and measurement services. If you are signed in to a Google Account and have ads personalization enabled in that account, Google will link this information to your Google Account. Google uses this information to recognize you across the devices and browsers you use, to include you in advertising audiences, to personalize the advertising you are shown on Google services and partner sites, and to measure the performance of our campaigns. Google decides how it uses this information for those purposes and is responsible for it as a separate controller.

Following Google’s removal of the separate Google Signals control, this linking follows from the cookie choice you make. We are not able to accept targeting cookies for Google advertising and measurement while separately preventing Google from linking that information to your Google Account. If you do not want your activity on the Website to be linked to your Google Account, please reject targeting cookies.

Enhanced conversions. Where you accept targeting cookies and enter your email address or telephone number when placing an order, the Google tag on the Website converts those details into a hashed value in your browser before sending it to Google, so that your order can be matched to advertising you have been shown. Google does not receive your email address or telephone number in readable form.

Audience Matching. Separately from cookies, we share our customers’ email addresses with Google and Meta in a hashed form, so that those companies can identify which of our customers hold an account with them. We use this to show advertising to groups of our existing customers, and to stop certain people from being shown our advertising. Google currently applies a maximum Customer Match audience membership duration of 540 days. Meta does not apply a fixed expiration date to these audiences. Meta flags an audience for deletion after 2 years without use. Because this does not rely on cookies, changing your cookie settings does not remove you from an audience that has already been created. You have the right to object to this use of your contact details at any time, using the contact details at the end of this policy.

Customer identifier. Where you are signed in to your Acne Studios account, have registered an account or have subscribed to our newsletter, we attach our own customer identifier to the information we send to Google and to our analytics providers, so that your activity can be recognized across sessions and devices. We do not do this on our Chinese website.

You can withdraw or change your consent preferences at any time through our cookie settings. Withdrawal takes effect from the point at which you make it and does not affect information already shared with Google. You can also manage how Google uses information for advertising in your Google Account settings, review the activity saved to that account through Google My Activity, and read Google’s own description of how it uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for other legal or regulatory reasons. Please visit this policy regularly to stay informed about our use of cookies and related technologies. The date at the end of this policy indicates when it was last updated. Where a change means that we or our partners will use information about you for a new purpose, or share it with a new recipient for a purpose you have not previously consented to, we will bring it to your attention and ask for your consent again before that new use begins.
